This course introduces students to physician medication orders and the NUC's role in transcribing and processing medication orders. Information is given about the use of abbreviations and acronyms, the components of a medication order, routs of administration and administration times. The Course also introduces Iv therapy, the components of an IV infusion and the role of a NUC in processing and transcribing IV infusion orders. Students will practice learned concepts in sessions using MOCK orders and transcribing/processing accordingly.
