Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) Eligibility
Guildford College's programs are not eligible for the Post-Graduation Work Permit.
The Post-Graduation Work Permit Program is administered by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). IRCC — not Guildford College — determines eligibility, and IRCC's criteria can change at any time.
Under IRCC's current criteria, graduates of a private career college are eligible for a PGWP only if their program was delivered under a curriculum-licensing arrangement with a public post-secondary institution, and only if that arrangement began on or before a fixed cut-off date set by IRCC. Guildford College develops and delivers all of its own programs independently. None of our programs are, or have ever been, delivered under such an arrangement with a public college or university. As a result, no program currently offered by Guildford College — including Health Unit Clerk – with Practicum — meets IRCC's eligibility criteria for the PGWP.
If a post-graduation work permit is part of your plan for staying in Canada after you graduate, please take this into account before you enrol.
This statement reflects IRCC's published PGWP eligibility criteria as of September 2026. It is general information only, not immigration advice, and PGWP rules can change. For current, authoritative information, see IRCC's official Post-Graduation Work Permit page, or consult a licensed immigration consultant (RCIC) or immigration lawyer. Guildford College's Registrar's office can point you to these resources but is not authorized to provide immigration advice.
